Datadog gives Indent live production context, so it can investigate incidents without you copying from another tab.
Connect Datadog
Open Datadog in Integrations
Open Datadog in Integrations.
Choose a scope
Select Connect service account to share the connection with your organization, or Connect personal account to use your own Datadog access in private sessions.
Choose your site
Choose your Datadog site: US1, US3, US5, EU1, AP1, or AP2.
Prepare Datadog for OAuth
If you use OAuth, ask a Datadog administrator to open Organization Settings → Preferences,
add https://app.indent.com/integrations/callback under MCP OAuth Redirect URLs, and confirm
that MCP Access is enabled.
Authenticate
Datadog connects through its hosted MCP server, with three options:
- OAuth — redirects you to Datadog to authorize access.
- Personal or service access token — uses a token with mcp_read, plus mcp_write and resource permissions when the tools need them. MCP Access must be enabled, and your role must include MCP Read.
- API and application keys — uses
DD_API_KEYandDD_APPLICATION_KEY. This option is organization-only.
Datadog connects at organization or personal scope, except the API-and-application-keys option, which is organization-only. See Connecting MCP servers for how scopes work.
