Organization admins can manage defaults from Settings → Organization Defaults.
Defaults apply when Indent creates a session without a more specific selection.
Default environment
Choose a published environment to use for:
- sessions created in the web app when the composer does not select another environment;
- Slack sessions without a channel automation environment;
- cron automation runs without an automation environment;
- sessions started from shared organization integration surfaces when the surface does not select an environment.
A selection made in the web composer or on an automation takes precedence over the organization default. Select No default to clear the fallback. Without an applicable environment, Indent starts the session without an environment.
The web composer remembers a person’s last selection and selects the first available environment when there is no organization default. To start without an environment from the web app, explicitly clear the environment in the composer.

Default model
Choose the model family used for a new session when the session or automation does not select a specific model. A specific model selected in the composer or on an automation takes precedence.
The selector lists each family and the model it currently uses, such as Sonnet 5 for Sonnet.
