Connecting Slack

Updated View as Markdown

Connecting Slack lets Indent work alongside your team in the tool you already talk in, and link long-running work back to a session in the web app.

Connect Slack

Connect your workspace

Open Settings → Slack and connect your workspace. This is an organization install and may need an administrator’s approval. You can link your personal Slack account on the same page.

Invite Indent to a channel

In the channel you want to use, run /invite @indent.

Start working

Mention @indent with a request. Indent replies in a thread and links long-running work as a session.

Slack connects at organization scope — your whole team shares the one workspace connection.

What Indent does in Slack

  • Answers questions and takes on tasks when you mention @indent in a channel.
  • Replies in a thread and links a session for long-running work.
  • Runs as a private session in a direct message, visible only to you.
  • Follows automations — standing instructions attached to a channel with @indent /automate <instruction>.

Channel threads stay visible to your organization.
